Craig Beck's ocean Memorial

Craig E. Beck, 66, of Monson passed away on Monday, September 11th 2017. Born in Springfield on January 9, 1951. He was the son of the late Ernest and Doris (Lettier) Beck. Craig was a graduate of Tech High School and went on to UMASS Amherst with a degree in Forest Management. He proudly served in the US Navy. Craig co-owned and operated CJ Ground Maintenance for 42 years. He was a long time Hampden resident who loved his house out in the woods, before relocating to Monson where he lived on paradise lake and truly loved it there.
His love for fishing was the most pronoun and recent passion that he had. He also loved listening to music of many varieties and enjoyed attending concerts. He loved watching the sun set over the ocean. He had a passion for hot rods and used to build them with his father. He also enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his family.
He leaves behind his loving partner, Debra Gilbert; his daughter Alicia; his son Michael and wife Melanie; his 4 grandchildren Ariana, Dominic, Jayden, and Preston Beck; his 3 sisters Susan, Vicky and Jeanne and his former wife, Lucy Beck.
Craig was one of the most giving, loving and caring individuals I have ever meet. He was dedicated to his job/company,  so much that he died doing it.
His death was sudden and extremely unexpected, that's what's making it so hard on so many people. The cause of death is unknown, but believed to be a massive heart attack. We're all so glad that he did not suffer and lay in a death bed for any length of time.
It is our prayer that Craig passed quickly and peacefully and now resides with his mother and father to enjoy many years to come with them and the other loved ones who are there and the ones to visit in years to come.
My father's love for the ocean must have started while serving in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida and served on the U.S.S. Lexington. He loved fishing in the ocean and diving for lobster. It would be a wish of his to have some of his remains stay permanently in the ocean forever; while helping preserve and creating new life for others who live where he will be placed to rest. The reef ball that we're going to be purchasing will be placed off of the coast of Florida near the Miami beach area. It was his favorite place to vacation. He loved to take walks and find shells. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated. The more money raised the larger the reef ball and the more honored Craig Beck will be, hence the more he will contribute to the oceans rapidly diminishing coral reefs. He never stopped  helping out others on this earth, now it is time for him to give back to the ocean and mother nature.
