Help for Christie and Arti

Dear da Vinci Families and Friends,
As some of you may or may not know, Christie King, beloved former Core teacher and Leo Advisor, was injured in an accident three weeks ago while out with her family. While she is okay, she sustained numerous injuries and now is in a body cast, having damaged her spine and breaking three ribs. She will continue her recuperation at her mom’s house in Southern Oregon, with husband Arti and her mom’s help.
Thankfully, Juni and Arti escaped uninjured. Fortunately, she is in good spirits, although I imagine she has “good” days and “bad” days. After hearing about her accident, I thought about medical bills (because you can’t get insurance money from a fallen tree!), housekeeping help, and childcare help. I couldn’t imagine being bedridden, trying to get better, and yet thinking about these issues during recovery.
I know many of us would like to do something for Christie and her family. Seeing as she is physically far away, setting up a means to help fund their incidentals and help with some of the more pressing financial concerns seems to be a logical step. Christie will not be able to work this coming school year, and it appears that Arti will be shouldering much of the childcare for Juni - perhaps only picking up some part-time positions here and there. While Christie’s mother has been wonderfully helpful, she too has taken time off work to help Christie fully recuperate. I’m sure any gesture, big or small, would be much appreciated. Christie would love to hear from our community by mail as well. Please PM me if you would like her address to send a card, drawing, or letter.
