This is a major step to mainstream America by Portuguese-American writers. Your support can make this happen.
Four Kale Soup for the Soul featured writers were invited to The Sundress Academy for the Arts (SAFTA), an artists' retreat on a 29-acre farm in Knoxville, Tennessee next June. Our room and board will be taken care of, but we need to get there.
It will be he first reading by Luso writers in Tennesee.
At SATFA we will give a Kale Soup reading, lead workshops and plan for more writing projects within the Portuguese community.
Our reading series Kale Soup for the Soul (Portuguese-American writers, presenting work about family, food, and culture) has given readings in Seattle, Chicago, Boston, New Bedford, Albuquerque and 20 other cities in the US.
A $5-10 donation will make a BIG difference. If 600 people who viewed our page donated JUST $3 we could meet our goal.
Your support will go toward FOUR writers traveling to Tennessee (a combination of airfare and train, all the most reasonable fares available).
