The scout motto is commonly known as "be prepared," but no one could've been prepared for what has happened to Cub Scout Pack 182.
In June of 2014, Pack 182 was shaken by the discovery that the person acting as their treasurer had embezzled at least $6,000 from the boys. This person was taking money from the cub scout account and putting it into her own personal account. The boys lost everything. All the money was gone and the account was negative.
The boys worked very hard for that money, standing in the cold and rain selling popcorn to fundraise for their Pack, only to have it all stolen from them.
The Pack now has two new, honest treasurers with many checks and balances in place to prevent anything like this from ever happening again. However, they are struggling to recover from this. Their bills still need to be paid and they still want to be able to provide activities, camp, educational trips and community service efforts for the boys.
This page has been set up with the knowledge and approval of Cub Scout Pack 182.
All funds raised through this page will be sent directly to the school and will go directly to Pack 182.
