                Community Supported Agriculture/Art

A Place To Grow...Feeding the mind, body and spirit.

Providing fresh local food and facilitating wholistic opportunities for learning, healing, creating and celebrating with nature.

Participants share a 'Common Vision' of wholistic values that connects us to each other and the natural world.

I wish that we all can find sustainability in our lives.

Personal Background Information:

I studied the healing Arts at Goddard College and have been implementing these life-long lessons into my work as a healer, teacher and mother ever since.   After having my two boys, my family decided that the best way to support sustainability in our home and community was to create a homestead where we can grow, learn, and heal ourselves and others by supporting and increasing local connections.  As a means to support this vision - I have started a business where I can work from home while homeschooling our boys and growing our farm.  With little capital- I have created a new business model, based on the idea of Community Supported Agrigulture, that intrinsically involves the community that we serve.

For me sustainability means a healthy balance that supports our lives.  The way we treat the earth, our bodies, our children and other relationships- including those with people around the world, are all issues that can come back to this idea of being sustainable. I want to help reach that goal by providing low-cost, healthy alternatives for our family and the surrounding community.

Programs that support traditional and progressive arts, with a 'common vision' of social justice, cooperation and sustainability. Our vision is deeply rooted in sustainable environmental practices and increasing self-sufficiency,  while developing strong community connections.

GOAL Overview:

I am looking to raise money to implement some key infrastructure that will support our programs, classes and gatherings so we may offer more of these opportunities.  Specifically, I would like to build a 25foot yurt (purchased from a local yurt builder in our neighboring town) Erect an outdoor privy/ composting toilet, and an outdoor work space for classes & performances. Estimate for these infrastructure costs: $15,000.00

25foot yurt: ($12,000.00)

* Provide a year-round space for people to use for learning, creating, and gathering in our community.
* Rent the yurt to other members of the community to use as a space to offer their own programs.
* Summer internships- Farming/gardening skills, art, and social ecology.

“Two-Seater” Composting Toilet: ($300.00:)

To serve as a working demonstration as well as to serve a necessary need for general public to use during classes, events, trainings, etc.

Outdoor Work Spaces: ($200.00)

* A 10x10 foot Counter Space that will serve a double-purpose. Vertically it will replace a fallen grape trellis. Horizontally creating two large counter tops for doing hand work/art projects.  The grape vine will provide shade and habitat for pollinators.

* A 10x10 covered “stage” area. ($2500.00)
To provide an outside space for classes & performances that has access to power and is out of the weather.

As a means of reaching this goal:

*I am hosting a Spring Gathering to be a fundraising event.

*I am looking for sponsors to help fund the promotion and implementation of the event and all proceeds will go into developing future programs.

*I am starting a Community- Supported Investment Campaign, where folks can essentially loan me an up-front amount of money – that I will repay through an exchange of farm/art options we provide. (Ie homeschool classes, farm share of fresh food, art classes or rental space and/or promotion of their business.)

For more information about any of these options or how you can become involved to help, you can contact me directly or look at our website to learn more.
