Stars Rugby 7s Tour: Australia

I have been volunteer coaching at Littleton Eagles For 2 year!

Hi my name is Cody Melphy and I am 21 years old. I started playing rugby 3 years ago when I turned 18 as a senior at Heritage High School. I have worked very hard to get to where I am. I haven’t stopped playing rugby for more than 2 weeks since I started and it has been a blessing. Now I am playing for the top club team in the USA. I’m playing in the Premiership that is soon moving into a professional league. I am in the gym everyday, eating healthy and studying the game 24/7. I am doing everything in my power to achieve my goals for playing for the national team. Also, I am aspiring to play internationally for a big rugby club. The first place I think of is Australia.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to play for Glendale and the national qualifying team all summer. I have been receiving a lot of praise and recognition for my abilities, accomplishments and all around good attitude this summer. I have received an invite to play for the Stars 7s rugby team in Wyong, Australia and this is the best opportunity I have ever been offered in my life. I knew that I had to take hold of this and do whatever I could to get myself there! This is followed by another tournament in Trinidad and Tobago on December 10th to 15th.

As many may know rugby in the States is not professionalized yet, so everything is out of pocket or fundraised. With such short notice getting funds for this would be impossible alone. So I am using my resources and reaching out. I am asking for people to get together and support me in my dreams. I can’t even begin to thank everyone for what they have done for me already and this is just one more thing to be thankful for. The good will come back around in full circle and it WILL be PAID FORWARD.
