Clarence Waldron Needs Our Help to Walk Again!

Friends:
Clarence Waldron, a man who is dear to many of us, had a stroke on Christmas morning that affected his speech and stole his ability to walk. Clarence has dedicated his life to helping and giving to others. Now Clarence is asking for our financial help for his medical and life expenses as he is on the long road to recovery.

Clarence has been a tremendous source of comfort, counsel, and camaraderie. Whether it was in the newsroom, the classroom, or in personal settings, we have leaned on him for his wisdom and generosity and he always selflessly came through. We now have the opportunity to repay those favors as our friend gets back on his feet – both literally and financially. With God’s grace and our help, we know that Clarence will rebound physically, emotionally and financially.

Here is Clarence's story in his own words:

On Christmas 2017, my life was changed forever. I woke up and couldn’t feel my legs. I didn’t know what to think, but I managed to drag myself out of bed to immediately call for help. At the hospital, I learned that I had a stroke. My quality of life has changed, I am unable to walk, cannot move the left side of my body, and my speech has been impacted.

I once made a living writing stories as a Senior Editor at Jet magazine. Now my story is being written in a way I never imagined, but I know that God is in control and has a plan. I am grateful for every prayer, good wish, and act of kindness; but I am in need of your financial help, which I never thought I would have to ask for.

Your assistance will help me with the urgent therapy I need to recover and ease the burden of financial stress because insurance is limited. Currently I am going through intense rehab in an inpatient hospital to be followed by an extended stay in a professional nursing home, where I will continue therapy until I get to go home.

I have a very long road ahead of me, but I learned life goes on no matter what we endure. For me life will go on in a different way but I will thrive during this battle.

Anything you are able to contribute would be so helpful to Clarence. Let’s help him get the very best care that he deserves on his road to recovery.  And in Clarence’s words
“And that is all..and why.”
