What would it be like to learn without any materials or supplies in your classroom? Help me provide the best learning I can by supporting our classroom with learning tools and supplies! As a special education teacher, we often have extra special needs to be met for each of our students. Our students aren't conventional learners. They need quiet-time areas in the classrooms with comfortable seating, a variety of books on many topics that are there "just right" reading level, manipulatives for learning new concepts. The list is endless. We need to supply pencils, notebooks, class library and curriculum books...you name it, we need it and we can't educate our students without your generous help. Not only are we teaching to the same state standards as general ed, but we are simultaneously working on closing the achievement gap.

My students are eager and excited to learn, and for many of them school is a safe haven. These students are from a low income neighborhood facing many challenges outside of school. We are an urban school in New York trying to support the education of underprivileged kids.

My students will be able to learn in a safe, exciting, inspiring classroom with support for this project. I will be able to make learning fun and enjoyable for my students with these resources. For my students, I am requesting books on various reading levels, hands on manipulatives, and supplies. I am also requesting items to help organize the classroom like storage caddies for white boards, shelving unit with bins to store our manipulatives, library check out charts to help our students gain a sense of independence. I am also requesting items such as gift cards so we can replenish student supplies throughout the academic year.
With your help, we will be able to provide our students with a more individualized approach to support their reading, writing and math skills. In addition, students will be working in an organized, comfortable space.

My students are from a place where they don't have much in the way of material possessions. Being able to provide some inspiration and fun inside school will help create a love of learning for my students. As a teacher, I need organizational tools to create a properly functioning classroom. I also want to make school an exciting arena for my students who may not always have a great relationship with school.
