Bonnie Thrasher Memorial
Donation protected
Over the course of more than two decades, Bonnie Thrasher touched the lives of countless students in Arkansas State University's Department of Journalism and The Herald.
She left us in late March. The outpouring from students (both past and present), colleagues and friends through social media, blogs and a touching memorial service on campus reminded all of us how special Bonnie was.
Dean of the College of Media and Communciations Dr. Brad Rawlins has agreed to allow the installation of a permanent memorial for Bonnie, fittingly in the Herald Office. Jonesboro artist Sean Shrum has been commissioned to recreate the last staff photo of Bonnie in his styling on a 36" x 36" canvas.
We hope to unveil the memorial next semester, and additional funds will be used to create a plaque to accompany the painting.
