Odeth's College Fund

Odeth is $5000 away from going to Wells in September and after having explored many possible avenues for funding she has until August 15th to raise the money. Please help send Odeth to college where she will go on to be an incredible leader for her communities!
Odeth Morales is an amazing young woman who has the chance to be the first person in her family to go to college! She identifies as first generation Latina (Honduran and Dominican) and lives in East New York. Odeth has been accepted to Wells College in Aurora, New York and is the recipient of multiple scholarships and grants in addition to already having taken out the maximum amount of federal loans that she can independently. Unfortunately, this does not cover all of her academic funding and her family does not have the resources to contribute financially or meet the requirements to assist her in further loans which she cannot take out without a co-signer.

This year she completed high school against incredible odds after having recommitted herself to her education at a transfer school when her original high school did not serve her well. Odeth has also applied for, been accepted to and participated in multiple leadership programs including one which took her all the way to India to serve as a youth leader and learn from the non-violent social justice techniques of Tibetan refugees. She is also interested in the STEM field and is excited to diversify the white male dominated math and science domains which she has already started to do as a graduate of New York City STEM Matters DNA science camp. Odeth is going to do great things!
