Last year, we were able to raise enough money to send a local teen to YouthWrite , a summer camp for the arts. Our Programmer, Corrie, attended the camp for 2 summers as a teen, and it has impacted her life in many ways, the most important being her employment at and enjoyment of the library.
In collaborating with Gail Sidonie Sobat and her YouthWrite staff, we have been able to create a sponsorship to guarantee a spot at YouthWrite for a Sylvan Lake teen - provided we can raise the money for the registration fee. During this year's Polar Bear Dip, Corrie managed to raise $300.00 - almost half of the $625.00 registration feel! But we still need your help to get us the rest of the way!
We're asking for $450.00 - the funds will go towards the registration fee, a YouthWrite t-shirt, and purchasing a camera to send with the Youth to document the experience.
We have until the end of May to raise this money, and I know we as a community can do it! Donations of $20 or more will get you a tax receipt - after you make a donation, email your name and mailing address to the email below.
