Sophie's Heartworm Treatment

A year ago, I adopted Sophie from Southeast Beagle Rescue in Tampa, FL. Sophie had been transported along with four other beagles after being abandoned outside of a shelter in Louisiana.
As a recent college graduate, I was looking for a best friend. As soon as I met Sophie, I knew she was the dog for me.
This July, at her routine annual check-up, Sophie tested heartworm-positive. Though she has been on a heartworm-preventative and she tested negative last June when tested by the rescue, it seems that she had been exposed to heartworms before getting on Heartgard.
Currently, Sophie is undergoing a two-month long treatment process with a good prognosis. Our vet at University Animal Hospital here in Orlando believes that due to her young age and otherwise great help, she will make a full-recovery.
Unfortunately, I am an AmeriCorps member, serving in and tutoring students in an underserved school in my local community, and I only recieve a small living stipend during my year of service.
Sophie's totaly expenses for her treatment total over $800, but I am hoping generous people will help me cover the costs of her treatment so she can continue to live a healthy, happy life.
