Supporting Cancer Families

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Darren. My Dad died from colon cancer when I was 17 years old. I don't say this for pity, I say this because it changed my life.

My family was fortunate to know we had limited time together, and we made the most of it. We traveled for most of the summer before he died. This gave us the time away from the "real world" to create memories and heal as a family.

It took about 2 years for me to realize I wanted to help other families affected by cancer and another 4 years to realize there was no reason to wait—no time like the present!

In June of 2014 The Bassett Foundation held our first event, a 5k/10k Kicking Kancer walk/run! We had t-shirts, banners, a few sponsors, and a lot people telling us what a great thing we are doing.

The dream was a reality....almost. Without being a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charity I am very limited in raising money to fund the programs. I can accept donations but I cannot ask for them.

So here is what I want to do: support families by helping with medical expenses, send them on vacations, and help with adoption costs if treatments caused infertility.

I can't do this alone, I need your help. The first big step is becoming 501(c)3 tax-exempt charity with the IRS. Once that is complete The Bassett Foundation can start supporting cancer families!

Thank you for your help and support! Please spread the word to your friends and family!
