Caitlyn's Journey to IHOPU

Reader's Digest version:
On August 15, 2013, I will begin my first semester as a second year student at IHOPU in Kansas City, MO. I've been saving, but now I'm also asking for partners to help support me as I seek to love and serve God in Kansas City. I'm rather arbitrarily setting the goal at $5000, but I will be so grateful for however much God chooses to provide.

Typical Caitlyn novel length version:
Hello, friends and family! As many of you know, last year God called me to spend six months in Kansas City, MO interning as an intercessory missionary at the International House of Prayer. God marked me years ago as a Mary of Bethany called to sit at his feet, and during my time at IHOP that became more of a reality to me than it ever was before. I spent over 30 hours a week in the prayer room worshiping, interceding, and generally seeking God's face, as well as many hours in classes studying the life of Jesus, prophecy, the Song of Solomon, and so much more. I was also activated in partnering with God through prophetic ministry, healing, evangelism, etc. God did so much in me during that time, but I didn't expect that he would ask me to stay.

However, as what God was doing at IHOP and around the world came alive to me, I began to realise that there's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be for this next season of my life. God is raising up a global prayer and worship movement, coupled with missions, that will lead into the greatest revival in history. He is raising up prophetic voices who will be unshakable in love and will point to Jesus in the day when everything is shaken. So he's calling me back to IHOPKC for their four year ministry school (International House of Prayer University) to receive further training, and to serve him through prayer, ministry, and outreach. My time as a One Thing intern counts as first semester credit to IHOPU, so I am now catching up the second semester online and I will enter as a second year student in August.

In my third and fourth years at IHOPU, I plan to be on the house of prayer leadership track. I don't know where exactly that will lead me, but I see myself leaving Kansas City to support or plant a house of prayer somewhere, either in the States or overseas. I want to help raise up a culture of 24/7 prayer and worship just like David did in the tabernacle.

So here's the layout of my financial status: I have been saving as much as possible while working at camp January-June and babysitting several days a week over the summer. My savings are enough to get me there and get me started, but certainly won't be able to sustain me for long. I have found a basement apartment I'll be sharing with my beloved internship roommate and for which I'll be paying $300/month. All in all, my monthly expenses will come to around $700-800/month. I hope to find a part-time job in Kansas City, but I'm not sure how many work hours my school schedule will allow.

God has come through for me so many times in the past in such amazing ways, and I am completely confident that he has a plan for providing for me. I am inviting you to be a part of that, whether through financial help or through prayer. (That's not a cop out-- prayer support is every bit as much needed as financial support, maybe even more so.)

Thank you so much for partnering with me in this journey. I look forward to running with you.

Grace and peace.

Caitlyn
