Help Build Cairn Hill a Playground

With a growing number of preschool students and a summer program beginning June 26th, 2018, Cairn Hill Nature Preschool needs to build an enclosed backyard playspace for the children to play, learn and explore in. Check out our updates for the latest news on our fundraising efforts.
What is Cairn Hill Nature Preschool?
Cairn Hill Nature Preschool provides Waldorf-inspired, nature-based STEAM and Kindergarten preparedness to the children of Lynn and surrounding communities. Welcoming children of all backgrounds and income levels, the preschool makes a quality preschool experience accessible to all children through a flexible tuition structure . Cairn Hill Nature Preschool is made possible through tuition and the Cairn Hill Inc., our non-profit entity, which solicits individual donations and foundation grants on behalf of the preschool.
What will the funds be used for?
Our general contractor will be building our EEC-compliant enclosed playspace, which was designed by friend and supporter Peter Kuttner, President of Cambridge Seven Architects. The playspace will include a number of engaging, exciting structures, including a mud kitchen (with a water hose), stepping logs and a slide.
We have been able to decrease the cost of building the playspace by using resourced materials where possible. Additionally, we are applying for grants to fund additional backyard needs, such as a shed.
Celebratory Project Completion Concert
We will be hosting a summer fiddle concert at Cairn Hill to celebrate the completion of the project on Sunday July 15th at 4:30pm. Bring a chair or blanket and come enjoy an afternoon of music and play. Free to all campaign donors and children.
Donation Reward Levels
We are so appreciative for each donation and as a Thank You we have been able to arrange several donation reward levels.
• Cairn Hill Spring & Summer Activities for Children PDF: Bring Waldorf inspired nature-based education to your home! This PDF booklet includes ten activities from the Cairn Hill curriculum which you can do with your children at home to support their curious nature. $25+ Donation
• Watercolor Workshop at Cairn Hill: Join us at Cairn Hill Preschool for a fun watercolor painting lesson on June 30th at 10am or July 27th at 6pm. Under the guidance of talented Lauren Smith, each participant will create their very own painting! Supplies will be provided, pre-registration required. $40+ Donation
• Pre-Concert Reception: Join us in a pre-concert reception of bubbly, crackers, fruit and cheese to celebrate the opening of the new adventure play space on Sunday July 15th at 3:30pm. We hope you’ll try the balance logs, compete in a mudpie making contest and find your own adventure in the yard you helped create! $100+ Donation
