Cafe Solstice

COVID-19 has changed the landscape for small businesses in Seattle. Café Solstice is struggling to survive the mandatory state-wide closing. The University of Washington closing its class rooms mid march and not reopening until fall creates a longer impact for our business district. This changes what is normally a vibrant college area into a ghost town. We ask for your help, no matter the size, so that Café Solstice may continue to support its wonderful community during and after this crisis and ensure we are able to reopen and create jobs and support our amazing staff.

Café Solstice began as an exuberant, creative community of espresso-loving individuals that would gather for conversation and laughter. Originating as a music-blasting sidewalk coffee cart on Capitol Hill in 1993, Solstice evolved and remains a hub for social connection: friends stopping by to share stories, local business employees escaping their offices for a mocha, college students procrastinating, musicians waking up at noon unable to open their eyes without their americano. Solstice is an organic hodge-podge of people, lifestyles, and beliefs, that inexplicably came together over coffee and connection.

We hope to be able to keep bringing people together and watch the magic happen. Personal stories attest to the success of this dream: ideas, careers, marriages and many college degrees have been born from the unexpected social crossings over 27 years provided by the open doors of Café Solstice. Café Solstice wants nothing more than to welcome us all back when the time is right: to laugh, love, drink coffee, and (most importantly) to be our own unique selves...together. All funds raised will go directly to the operating expenses for the survival of the café as we still have to pay rent and bills while being closed and during the closure of the University. Your support means everything! Thank you.

All doners of $50 dollars or more will receive  a Cafe Solstice Logo Mug.
