Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this! We have been heavily weighin on the idea of opening up this fundraising page for several weeks now, unsure if we wanted/needed to. The financial burden of the recent passing of our sweet guinea pig has made it a necessity however.

In April, our guinea pig Lucy contracted a very severe case of bloat. We were given a euthenasia ultimatum from the very first night when we took her to an emergency animal hospital. Unwilling to give up hope so easily, we spent the next serveral weeks in and out of specialty clinics and emergency hospitals, giving her a strenous routine of medications 4 times a day. These hospital visits and medicine quickly maxed out the $500 limit of our Care Credit card, which we opened in the lobby of the hospital itself. and then exceeded it instantly.

When we thought Lucy was improving, she took a very sudden turn for the worse. Despite all our efforts, we lost her in the end.

Now we have a new baby. Lucy's previous cagemate could not be left as a lonesome solo guinea pig for long (she had already been alone for the weeks of Lucy's treatment due to quarantine) and so we brought home Penny.

In what seems to be a very dark streak of bad luck, Penny abruptly contracted (or perhaps already had it and we didn't see signs when we bought her) a severe case of conjunctivits in one eye and a slight upper respritory infection within only days of coming home with us. With absolutely no time to recover financially from the massive expenses of Lucy's veterinary bills, Penny's urgent specialty clinic visit was covered entirely on money needed for other household bills (utilities, etc).  Penny's doctor visit and medications were an instant $168 increase to the debt we were already swimming in.

Even worse still, it would seem our other (and otherwise healthy through all of this nightmare) guinea pig has caught the conjuntivitis in BOTH eyes. We are hoping the use of the same eye drops we have for Penny will clear it up without yet another visit to the specialty clinic.

As a show of our immense gratitude for your help, we are prepared to make and send adorable guinea pig cuddle sacks for any donation of $20 or more! (If you want one). Pictured above is Penny in her mermaid tail sack, but we have many other options too!

We understand not everyone has the means to help, but any amount at all means so much to us. We are so worried that one more bad turn in either of our guinea pigs' health will be simply impossible for us to financially manage. We are already struggling from these expenses accruing so quickly and it has just truly been a heartbreaking disaster.

Please donate any amount you can bear to part with, and also please share our page to help us reach more and more readers. Thank you so very much, from both of us and our guinea pigs too!
