Help my dad with this case

I'm 15 years old and my family is living in poverty. My dad is a disabled veteran with heart problems and we couldn't pay for his last hospital visit, and now the doctors are suing him with a $1605.10 dollar cost. I need help and I feel that we're really running our of options here so this is kind of our last resort. I really don't want my dad to go to jail.
