Gage's Stolen Truck Campaign

Donation protected

Above is a screenshot of the post my son made on facebook after he finally bought his first car.

Ambrosia Automotive and I are teaming up to try to help Gage .   Heres his Story.

Gage accepted his first job at the River Cafe and worked as many hours as his could over the summer depositing every check he had straight into the bank.  He had a goal.  He wanted to buy his own first vehicle.   Aug. 13th he found and was extremely lucky to have found such a nice seller because the truck was a great deal.  He only needed to get a fuel pump and he had planned to either do this on his own or get a shop to do it.

With his next check he bought the part with first intention of doing it himself with family friend. Then later, with his next check had decided to leave it to professionals.  A family friend contacted Ambrosias and they agreed to work with the part Gage had purchased and install it at a price he could afford.   He had it towed to Ambrosias Automotive on Sept. 5th  on Labor day weekend after the shop had closed.  All was good we thought until we got the call on Tuesday that it was not there.  The keys were in the drop box but the truck was not.

We made a police report, and immediately took to social media to have Toledo and surrounding community keep and eye out.  Our posts were shared over 500 times.  THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.  Strangers on Facebook helped us find it in under 24 hrs.  Unfortunately it was dropped on the corner of Detroit and Pasadena gutted.   The entire contents under the hood was gone and the dash board had been ripped apart for the stereo.  His fuel pump was missing from the box and that box was thrown in the back as a slap in the face as another part given to the theives to sell at his cost.    The entire truck had been doused in bleach inside and out.

Neighboring video to the shop is grainy but you can see movement and lights to the truck around 4 am.  If you can help or know of any info that would help us nail who ever did this to show my son justice served please feel free to contact me.

We just want Gage to know he did the right thing by putting in the hard work.  He is 15 he turns 16 in 2 weeks so this was his big gift to himself along with putting himself through driving school.  I don't want him to be jaded and think he wasted his whole summer just to have someone come and take it away so what is the point.

Thank you for any consideration given.   And again thank you all for keeping your eyes out and sharing we atleast got the truck back quickly to know what happened to it.

**I want to address insurance since it has been brought up repeatedly.  We had not put insurance on the vehicle since it was sitting in the driveway and being towed to and from where it needed to be, and Gage does not even have his temps yet.  Him and I were trying to save that expense for when he was driving.

The shops insurance does not cover it because they had not assumed possession of the vehicle yet since it was after hours on a holiday weekend (waiting for them to open on Tuesday) and it was not in a fenced lot nor was it inside the building when it was stolen.  They inquired several times but were told it would be denied by their claims department.
