Tuition Assistance

For the second year, my appeal to the financial aid board has been rejected. My first year returning to college was incredibly rough on me. I was newly married but moved to a dorm in order to be closer to school while trying to still work close to full time in order to keep my husband in the house we were renting. Before Thanksgiving, my grandmother broke her neck which drew my focus away from classes at the worst possible time. The week before finals, our roommate informed my husband that she was moving out and not paying her share of the month's rent (on top of already owing us close to $3000). I spent all finals week stressing not only about my exams, but also about my husband packing our entire lives and moving. I failed all but two of my classes that semester.

Fast forward to spring semester, I lost my job a week before classes started back. I spent all semester drownin in a pit of depression while trying my hardest to pass classes. I failed a math class I had failed the previous semester, but passed all of the rest of my classes with 1 C, 2 Bs and 2 As.

My GPA was still too low for me to receive financial aid last year. I knew I needed to bring my GPA back over a 2.0 and had to pay for the semester out of my own funds. What no one told me was that I had to pay for TWO consecutive semesters out of my own pocket. After busting my tail taking 15 hours and earning a place on the Honor Roll to bring my GPA up from a 1.7 to a 2.3, I'm back where I started.

There is no way fiscally possible that I could in the forseeable future afford the $8000 2 semesters costs. I want to finish school. I want to be a productive member of society.

Please help.
