Today was my post op visit. They say everything looks great and I'm healing nicely. One unfortunate side effect of having a doctor poking around in my nose is that I've been sneezing off and on for the last 12 hours.
Thank you everyone for continuing to share this page and send prayers and thoughts of healing.
Well, it's been exactly a week since surgery and today is the first day I'm attempting to be off pain medication. So far, so good other than being dizzy when bending down still. I'm really not supposed to be doing that anyhow, so I shouldn't be surprised. :-)
Monday I'll be having my post-op visit and they are planning to flush my sinuses. For some reason that doesn't sound fun, but I hear it helps a lot.
Thank you to everyone who is still sending me prayers and healing thoughts. I still need them, but they're working!
Please don't forget to share my page, even if you aren't able to help financially. The support means sho much to me.
Surgery was done this morning and went exactly as planned. I'm home and resting. I have a lot of movement restrictions, so Zack and mom have been taking care of Iris and the house. Thank you all for thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and donations!
Hi everyone! Today we have a big update. There is no sign of neurological involvement with the mass in my sinus. It is putting quite a bit of pressure on my right eye though, and I will be having surgery on Friday August 8th to remove the mass and drain my sinuses on the right side.
I continue to appreciate your prayers, well wishes, and donations. Thank you all so much!
Just a small update today. I was scheduled for an MRI, but unfortunately found out that I am claustrophobic. I only managed to stay in the machine for about a minute and a half. Tomorrow we are going to work on scheduling an open MRI with mild sedation at the doctor's request. Hopefully it goes better the second time around!!
Thank you all again for thinking about me and praying for me during this mess!
Hi everyone, I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone who has contributed by donation, sharing my page, and sending prayers and positive thoughts our way. It might not seem like much to you, but it means so much to me. I'm so grateful for it all!
I have a small update. As of yesterday they are telling me that the process of getting the MRI approved and scheduled will begin today. I was told that the wait shouldn't be long, so I'm hoping to get it done by next week. Honestly, the sooner the better- one step closer to getting rid of all this pain!
Again, thank you all. Please keep sharing my story with anyone you think may want to help. Not just through money, though we appreciate that, but through prayers, positive thought, emotional support, or anything else someone may be willing to give.
Sunday afternoon I felt a stabbing pain in my face. I thought it was a headache and decided to lay down. Monday I was still in a lot of pain, so I went to the doctor. They prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection. Tuesday I was still in severe pain, and my doctor told me to go to the emergency room right away. The emergency room did some testing and told me to see an ENT as soon as possible.
Today I went to the ENT and they told me I have a large mass in my sinus that is pressing on my eye. It is causing me to have blurry vision. The doctor is concerned that it may be attached to my eye or brain, because I had such a sudden onset of severe pain. There are still several tests I need to have, but he says I will have to have surgery to remove it within the next few weeks.
I am a mother of three children, ages 9, 8, and 7 months. I have been staying home to care for them over summer and my fiancee has been our sole provider. Unfortunately he was unable to get FMLA and lost his job today hours after the news that I would need surgery, because he has had to drive me to my appointments the last week. I've been in so much pain and my vision has been blurry, the doctors prescribed pain medication and told me I couldn't drive. I am also losing my medical insurance this month, which just makes things seem that much more impossible.
I am trying to raise money to pay for all these appointments, testing, and the surgery as well as for our normal household expenses. We only have one vehicle, and we need to keep paying the loan or I will not be able to get to the doctors and hospital. I really appreciate anything you can give to help us get through this.
