Brookdale School Garden

We are the students, staff, teachers, parents, and neighbors of Brookdale Elementary School in Parkland. We are seeking funds for an important garden renovation.
As our current garden boxes fall apart, and because our past design was haphazard and encouraged weeding by herbicide, we are excited to implement a new kind of garden, that will be useful for joy, beauty, education, and food!
Phase 1: Mulch out the grass and build easy round beds that also serve as seating. Install a raingarden, compost bins, perennial plant areas, and a garden bed for community members to use. Build a space that would be ideal for our current nutrition programming.
Phase 2: Organize our current garden work into a Garden Club of students who are supported by community members. Install signage that will help all feel welcome and share the workload. Encourage interactions for appreciation of the natural world.
We have dreams and some time to make this happen, but we need the funding. Please consider donating. Thank you.
