Brian's New Sonata
I've written the music. I've memorized the notes. I've booked the concert hall. Now, it's time to record!
Please help me fund the recording of my new Fourth Piano Sonata!
I will be recording this new work in Le Petit Trianon Theatre in downtown San Jose on October 5, 2015. There is a fantastic Steinway D Concert Grand and world-class acoustics:
This piece is 12 minutes of intense pianistic expression. It is some of my most demanding music yet. The score cover page:
The score first page:
There is great contrast in this sonata. There are angry and dissonant clusters of notes:
ANGRY AND DISSONANT CLUSTERS OF NOTES!!!And lyrical, atmospheric melodic sections:
The music rack has to be adjusted (or taken off):
So that I can slap the bass strings like a bass drum:
And pluck the treble strings like a harp:
I touch the strings and slowly slide my fingers down them while I play the notes on the keyboard:
Sliding down the strings as they are played:After a grand fury of notes, I slam the keyboard closed, snuffing out all sounds, and thus ending the work:
More Fourth Sonata sounds:
Please help me in my quest to bring these new sounds to life! Donate today! THANK YOU!
