18 Girls, 18 Dreams - Dreams of winning Ontario Cup and travelling to represent Ontario at the National Soccer Championship
On Sunday, September 13th, after dedicating their childhood and teen years to the sport of soccer,
the Bradford Eagles 1998 U17 girls made history for their local town just north of Toronto, with a 3-0 victory over North London Galaxy girls’ soccer team to win the title of Ontario Cup Soccer Champions! Next stop? These remarkable, talented girls are headed to PEI to represent their province of ONTARIO at the National Soccer Championship U18 Division.
Let us tell you a bit about our team, our girls….
This victory didn’t come easy – it didn’t just happen. These girls faced adversity, fierce competition, many days and evenings of training giving every bit of energy and power within them to push towards their common goal – Nationals! What’s special about this team is that each and every girl brings something unique – they each have a role. Whether it’s speed, power, skill, pace, endurance, support, leadership – they all bring it, every practice and every game – and always with relentless determination and perseverance. While their friends and peers might be enjoying a night at the movies or shopping at the mall, these girls were on the pitch working so hard towards their common goal – to represent their town and now their province of Ontario at the National Cup in PEI.
Now, these girls are faced with the huge unexpected expense of getting to PEI, and on very short notice. We are hoping to raise $40,000 to cover basic travel and meal expenses for the one week in PEI, where the players and their coaches will continue to drive towards their goal of becoming National Champs!
This team, these players are ready to give it all to represent their Province – and now they appeal to you to help them do this. If you can spare $10, $25, $50 or even more to contribute towards their dream and bring the National Cup back to Ontario, your support and generosity will be so much appreciated.
We continue to thank the many supporters and fans – you are AWESOME! You make this team, these girls want to bring it home!
