Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
As many of you know, I'm a Boy Scout with Troop 370 out of St. James United Methodist Church, and I am curently working towards my Eagle Scout. One of the requirements is to plan and carry out a service/leadership project that benefits the community. This includes project design and implementation, coordinating volunteers, fundraising, and acquiring materials.
Being a runner, health and fitness are very important to me, and I wanted to find a way to promote these two values to my school and to my community. So, I decided upon building fitness equipment (a pull-up bar, parallel bars, and a sit-up platform) along the nature trail at Marist School, which is open to the broader community.
Unfortunately, nothing in this world is free. I've estimated the total expenses of my project (materials, supplies, tool rentals, misc. costs) to be about $1,500, not including contingencies.
I am reaching out to all of you for your support in the form of funding, volunteer labor, materials donation, or any combination of the above. I am anticipating work-dates in August and September, which will be specified in the very near future.
It is my understanding that contributions are tax-deductible, and any donations exceeding the cost of my Eagle Scout project will be allocated towards the beneficiary, Marist School.
Thank you in advance for your generous support,
Frank Pittman
