Bowery's Medical Fund

This is a story of a beloved pup, Bowery, who has gone through so much in his year and a half on earth. I rescued him as a puppy at roughly 4 months old. Before that, in his first few months of life, he was abused by his breeder, who was selling Bowery and his brothers out of the trunk of his car. Abusive and illegal, the breeder tortured the pups with water, leaving them scared and afraid for their uncertain future. A year later, Bowery is trusting, loving, and the fastest runner you'll ever meet! It's taken a full year to gain his trust, but we had an instant connection the day we met. We spent three and a half hours in a car the first night, with him licking my hands, as if to thank me for giving him a forever home. Fast forward to Thursday August 20th, at 10:20 at night. Bowery was so excited to be out that he pulled, which led me to trip on the uneven sidewalk they were repairing; an action that set off the next series of events. Bowery slipped off his leash and headed to the street. A random car came flying up the street, but it was too late; Bowery was hit. Within seconds of screaming for help, caring neighbours came to the rescue, scooping Bowery and me up, taking us straight to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital where he was taken in as critical right away, and still has not left that state. The doctors have been incredible and have literally cared for him around the clock for the last 60 hours.  He is stable, but the outcome is grey and hard to determine at this moment. With head trauma, a ruptured bladder and a dislocated hip, as well as a fractured pelvis, all four areas require surgery, at different times, which is why I have come to this site. As a student, I cannot afford the medical bills, as my credit limit is running out. I am doing everything I can, but everything is not enough. Bowery has been my rock, as I battle anxiety every day. Soon enough, I had wanted him to be a certified therapy dog. He's helped me through university, life, depression and anxiety. I can't lose what means the world to me.
