Rebekah Fleming, a twenty-two year old from
Allen, MD, has been dealing with the effects of spina bifida since she was a
baby. Until the age of nine, Bekah was able to walk with the help of a
cane; however, since that time, she has been confined to a wheelchair. In the
past couple years, Bekah has lost pretty much all strength in her arms. Despite
these struggles, Bekah remains a positive and strong person at heart. She has a
great spirit with which she praises God and thanks him for every blessing - large
and small.
Blessings for Bekah began on July 21, 2012 in
response to Bekah's growing physical needs. As she lost strength in her arms,
even small tasks became insurmountable. Bekah is blessed with an amazing family
who does a great job caring for her every day. We, their friends and extended
family, want to make each day just a bit easier for the Fleming family. In
order to accomplish this, it is our goal to raise enough to:
* Purchase a van with a roll-in lift for
Bekah's wheelchair.
* Customize the Fleming's home to make it more
wheelchair accessible - expanding doorways, building a ramp outside of their
home, etc.
* Build an addition customized for Bekah -
to include a bathroom and bedroom.
While donations are currently being accepted at Hebron Savings Bank and participation in local fundraising events in the Salisbury, MD area is encouraged, this website provides you with a quick and easy way to make a big difference in the lives of a wonderful family.
Thank you for all of your support and prayers!
