Jess is my beautiful, kind, and compassionate sister-in-law. Though it's usually her helping others, the tables have turned and now she needs our help.
In the summer of 2019 Jess started feeling some pain in her hip. Like any healthy 39 year old, she thought it was nothing, a pulled muscle maybe. But it didn't go away. Days, weeks, and months went by and the pain only seemed to get worse, but Jess isn't a complainer and tried to power through. In late April 2020 she conceded that is was time to see a doctor. She saw an orthopedist, and an MRI was done in May. That was when our world was rocked. Jess's hip is peppered with lesions.
Jess was sent to an oncologist who ordered more tests and found more lesions in her lymph nodes and a large mass surrounding her left kidney. We have sense discovered that she has metastatic paraganglioma/pheochromocytoma, an extremely rare malignancy.
Jess has been through chemo, two surgeries, and has to fly back and forth from Atlanta to Houston to receive portions of her treatment at MD Anderson, one of the few places with doctors that specialize in her type of cancer.
Jess is married and has two daughters. She works with her husband as an office assistant at a small start-up company. Her medical bills are ongoing and she hasn't been able to work as much. We so appreciate the peace of mind your donations provide, so that her family can focus on healing instead of stressing about their finances. There is a long road ahead for Jess and her family with treatments extending further than we can see at this point, but this money will help them make their medical bills more manageable.
