SATURDAY 8/9 7:30pm Lion's Park
Last month Aquia Harbour suffered a heart breaking tragedy when 4-year-old Rico Brayshaw drowned in the Harbour Inn swimming pool.
Rico’s mother is a single parent, a member of the National Guard, and a Harbour resident. Her other son, Anthony is 5 years old. They have been dealing with the devastation as best they can but one thing they really wanted was a memorial service for Rico here in the Harbour.
A committee of residents, the Aquia Evening Lions and www.llost.org
foundation run by a Harbour family) have helped make this a reality. The service will be held this Saturday (tomorrow) at 730pm at Lions Park next to the stables. Rico's mother wants it to be a celebration of young Rico's life with upbeat music, funny stories about her little guy and the presence of other children for her son Anthony so it will be kept very light. There will be a craft table with adult supervision for the kids during the very brief service. Dress is casual (also the park has been sprayed for mosquitoes).
There will be a balloons-to-heaven release and some good food and new friends to be made. Please consider taking an hour out of your Saturday to attend this service so we can let this family know they are not alone.
Donations on behalf of Rico Brayshaw can be made to Donate-for-Life (Organ donation organization) or to Go Fund Me – in Memory or Rico http://www.gofundme.com/bbgz6c
(a verified site) set up to offset the extensive medical bills acquired during the 4 days Rico fought for his life a VCU Medical Center.
When you are lucky enough to live in a place like Aquia Harbour, you don’t have to go it alone. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
