A Bed for Maria

The Desert Foothills United Methodist Church's Youth Mission Team is working in Puerto Rico this week with Maria, a 75 year old woman, and Celia, her 50 year old daughter. These two women need more help than we can provide. One of the largest needs we've found is that Maria desperately requires a new bed. Maria suffers from a lot of pain and is virtually bound to her bedroom, but her bed is unsanitary, unsafe, and not conducive to relieving any of her pain. Our hope is to buy Maria a new bed, box spring, and set of linens. We think this bed could help us take a huge step toward making Maria happy and safe in her own home. Any prayers or positive thoughts you can send our way are appreciated. Any extra funds we raise will be used toward the other substantial needs these women have.
