Bayhill High School, a program of Bay Area Educational Institute (501(c) 3), was started in 2007 to provide a unique program for high school students with learning d ifferences. Our program is growing. We have found a new space and need to raise money to realize our committment of moving to a permanent home in Berkeley with amenities we have only dreamed of...an indoor gym, outdoor space, a garden, passive solar heating, an amazing art studio and science lab, ADA accessible to all floors, retro-fitted for safety of our students and much more.

Bayhill High School is certified by the California State Department of Education, accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and holds course approvals that allow our students to attend California universities and colleges.

At Bayhill, we strive to provide all students an education individualized to their learning style with the needed support to be successful in post high-school endeavors. Bayhill High School offers a program with the core principles of teaching students with learning differences:

· A small school with small class sizes
· Explicit instruction utilizing multi-sensory approaches with technological support
· Highly qualified teachers credentialed in special education and/or single subjects
· A college preparatory curriculum that is approved by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
· Support classes such as Reading Success, Writing Fundamentals, Technology, and Study Skills, which provide intensive remediation for students with academic delays
· Supplementary services such as speech/language services and individual/group counseling
· Course offerings aligned with California Common Core Standards and California Graduation requirements that culminate in a high school diploma
· Certification from the California State Department of Education

And the high school experience that students of all abilities want to experience:
· School dances and the end-of-the-year Prom
· Junior and Senior trips
· Clubs
· Competitive Sports Program
· Off-campus lunch privileges
· Student Council
· Yearbook
· Cultural Assemblies
· Social Education Programs
· Technology

Our committed faculty believe every student can learn. It is our job as teachers to figure out the best way to teach given their disabilities. We teach our lessons with the latest technology of SmartBoards, assisitive technology, and strategies of teaching to all learners.

Help us realize our dream of moving to a school facility that will be our long-term home, assuring that Bayhill will be around to serve students with learning differences for many years to come.
