Hello my name is Andrew Miller. I am owner of Rootform: an Artisan Collective and Incubator in SLC
. Rootform provides workspace, equipment, and training to artisans and designers (or collectively “makers”) for a reasonable monthly membership rate.
We cater to individuals and teams that are working to build a business based around their craft. Rootform, simply put, is a facilitator. We exist to help people make great product, brand it, and sell it. We desire to foster an environment that encourages collaboration, discipline cross-pollination and honest feedback.

]Many very talented artisans and designers are unable to manifest their creative visions because of the high cost of power equipment, work space, etc.
Rootform provides a lower barrier to entry to get an artisan business up and running. The low overhead cost to each member in addition to our programs and community support allow an artisan to find out with minimal risk whether his or her product(s) will make it in the market. And whether or not they really want to start a business.
We want to help showcase the creative talent and maker spirit that exists in Salt Lake City.Rootform is at a critical juncture.
I have brought the business this far with an obsessive amount of thought and analysis, barrels of sweat and determination, and zero start-up capital. I am very thankful for the help, support, and patience of Rootform members as well as help from local entrepreneurs and local business incubator Sustainable Startups
. I have proven that this business is viable. I am more confident in the business and more determined than ever before to see it thrive and grow. Rootform Artisan Collective and Incubator will have a positive impact on its members lives. It will also be a valuable part of the SLC community.
Your donation will go towards turning the front portion of our shop into a multipurpose area in which we will be able to hold workshops in various art, craft, and design disciplines. These workshops will be open to members of the SLC community at large and provided to members at a discounted rate. They will serve to expand an artisan's skillset and provide an enriching experience to any community member that signs up. Your funds will also go towards securing more space and buying lumber to build out more workstations which will allow more members to join.
On a personal note I am excited and honored for the opportunity to have a positive impact on people's lives and the SLC community. I know this business will do a lot of good.
Any amount helps. Thanks!!!
