It's very difficult living in a place where something that should be considered an actual medical condition (and which should be covered by insurance) is treated as an aesthetic desire.
Transitioning is not only hard on the body but also on the wallet.
Hormones, doctor visits, electrolysis, laser, hospital bills, etc. There are times now when I struggle to find coins in my couch cushions just to pay for a bottle of prescribed hormones.
I'm worried, I'll be honest.
I'm afraid because I've done so well staying on track that I'm scared, terrified even, that if I can't afford my medications, my body will begin to produce T (testosterone) normally again and I will resume my male growth.
Thankfully my medications are inexpensive thanks to my pharmacies wonderful membership program, but I still need help.
