Help Save The Animals

Donation protected
Please help us save the animals of La Mision, Mexico from suffering.

El Rancho Exilio Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 charity which operates an animal rescue in La Mision, Mexico.  The sanctuary exists to reduce animal suffering.  All of its animal family members were abondoned at a young age, and without being rescued would have certainly died or been killed.  When an animal is rescued by the Rancho Exilio Animal Sanctuary, it has a home for life and is given the best possible medical care.

LIfe in rural Mexico is often very hard on animals, especially cats and dogs.  Because spay and neutering is beyond the financial reach of most of the locals, their cats and dogs produce litters over and over.  A cat that has not been spayed, and its offspring, can produce thousands of cats in just a very few years.  Female cats and dogs suffer from repeated breeding and their offspring have little chance of survival.

To help prevent animal suffering and overpopulation, Ranch Exilio began to hold FREE spay and neutering clinics for the Mexican community on a semi-annual basis.  The cost of hiring veterinarian, support staff, and medical supplies for each event is approximately $500.  With the support of American and Mexican volunteers who handle the intake process and recovery efforts, 25-30 animals are spayed or neutered at each clinic.

When the veterinary teams operate at El Rancho Exilio Animal Sanctuary they make do with limited resources.  Animals are prepped for surgery on folding tables and the surgery is performed on household ironing boards.  The recovering animals are placed on newspapers on the concrete floor.  The veterinarian team has no resuscitation or heart monitoring equipment.

Our goal is threefold.  First, we want to increase our clinic events so that thousands of abandoned newborn animals can be spared from crippling diseases, starvation and mutilating death by domestic and wild predators.  Our second goal is to better equip the veterinarians and their surgery area.  Third, we want to provide for better on-site veternary care for the animals rescued by El Rancho Animal Animal Sanctuary.

To accomplish these goals we need to raise $11,000.  Can you help us help the animals?  Until now the Rancho Exilio Animal Sanctuary has been totally funded by its founders, Bill and Cindi Kirchhoff and a little help from friends and neighbors.  We can save thousands of animals from suffering and death with your help.  Thank you.
