Bloomin' Clocks

Bloomin Rubbish is delighted to be working with Disability Art Project Uganda to create a range of recycled bottle top clocks.

In October 2013 Bloomin Rubbish team member Frances Priest visited 32°East|Ugandan Arts Trust to work with Fred Batale and his group Disability Art Project Uganda.

Founded by Fred in 2013, DAPU is a grass roots arts project working to support people living with disabilities in Kampala. Alongside offering a supportive network, DAPU use creative skills exchange workshops to pool the groups many and varied talents toward creating a range of products for sale. Frances spent one week with DAPU sharing and swapping skills. From this the idea for Bloomin Clocks was born.

DAPU are now working to create a range of recycled bottle top clocks for sale in local craft markets and shops in Kampala. To get this project up and running DAPU need to buy essential tools and materials which are hard to come by in Uganda, including clock parts, cable ties and hand drills.

Can you help DAPU to realise their ambition to become a self-funded project?  All money donated will be used to buy materials in the UK that will be sent to DAPU to help the Bloomin Clocks grow.
