Cancer at age 23

Meet Garret Mason from Highlands, Texas...

At just 23 years young, just starting a promising career in law enforcement, Garret was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 "Grey Zone Lymphoma"... a rare form of lymphatic cancer. The prognosis, because of the rarity of this form of cancer, is a bit cloudy but it's treatable and even curable.

Garret is being treated at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. His regimen includes being hospitalized for five days, every three weeks, over the next six months for multiple rounds of specialized chemotherapy. His first round has gone well so far, but the road ahead is going to be long, with side effects that might  become difficult, and with medical bills and related expenses that will begin to add up.

Less than six months ago, Garret was excited to be hired by the Goose Creek School District as a member of their security team. He loves his job (his mom Susanne teaches middle school for Goose Creek)... He's been a dedicated employee, and he's determined to continue working as often as he can  through his hopefull recovery. However, due to the scheduling of his treatments and hospitalization every three weeks, Garret will certainly experience a major drop in income.

Although he is insured through the school district, there are large deductibles and co-pays, medications, as well as expected follow up expenses after he finishes his six months of chemotherapy.

Add to that: travel expenses to and from Houston for Garret and his family, parking fees, hospital incidentals, etc etc and the costs associated with his cancer & recovery are beginning to mount heavily.

This site was created to assist Garret, and donations of any size are greatly appreciated, anything and everything helps! The funds raised here will be administered and managed by his mom and will be used solely to lessen the burden of Garret's healing journey.

And... any funds NOT needed after Garret's journey will be combined and donated to Lymphoma victims and their families through MD Anderson.
