Help send me to the Orlando Ho'ike Hawaii Competition!
This year I have been invited to compete with my Hula School (www.houstonhalau.org) in July. Being that I have not been with the halau long, this is a huge honor. I have never felt more apart of something in my life, and I need your help to get me to Orlando!!

Your funding will cover my costs to and from competition. It will cover my hotel stay, all of my costumes, flowers, and expenses.
I have never competed before, please help me to my first!

My background in Hula,I have been dancing on and off since I was 8. As some of you know, I come from extremely humble beginnings with a family that comes in and out of my life.
I started dancing hula in North Pole, Alaska, you would never think that Hawiian dancing would be so popular there, but it is. It was at Alaskaland in Fairbanks that I saw my first hula show, and after that knew I wanted to be a part of it.
When I moved from Alaska to California, I joined up with the Hula School of Santa Cruz, where I danced for many years under Kumu Leolani Lowery's teaching. Now I have the pleasure of dancing here in Houston, with an amazing group of men and women. I truly could not be happier.
Hula has been the one thing in my life that always makes me feel like I have a home. I believe whole heartedly in their culture, their dance, and their lifestyle. I love dancing because it makes me feel amazing about myself. It has always taught me self discipline and respect.
Hula continues to push me both mentally and phsyically, to levels I never would have imagined.This year is the first time in my life that I have been invited to compete, and I would nothing more than to be there. Please help me reach my goals and dreams through hula.
