AntFarm Youth make a difference!

In just four and a half years, AntFarm has grown from an empty storefront in Sandy, Oregon, into a vibrant community center with 7 strong and meaningful programs

We did this without government funding.

We did this without charging youth and families.

We did this "without money."  People ask how.

You've heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child."

We believe in hard work, talking with each other, and always listening to the needs of our young people and community.

We have worked hard, been open with our needs, and asked for help.

With a growing community volunteer force, youth recieve free tutoring, job coaching, and mentoring in community service.  We write a lot of grants from philanthropic foundations and our friends have made donations.

We collect nickel deposit cans and bottles and with the help of a local senior citizen collect over $1,000 each month to help pay the rent.

Since 2010, here's what has happened at AntFarm:

We've helped over 300 senior citizens with local youth volunteering time.  These youth have, in turn, become interns and employees.

We've employed over 250 youth to build trails and do work in the community

We started a garden to grow and donate over 10,000 pounds of produce to the local food bank and folks that need it. Last year this totaled over $27,000 in produce.

And there's lots more.

This spring,  community members involved in the Ford Institute Leadership Program have chosen AntFarm as their 2015 project. The Ford Family Foundation will match up to $5,000 for successful fundraising to support AntFarm.

This is an amazing opportunity for AntFarm--and we ask for your help!

Your donation today will help us in 3 ways:

1) Support the Ford Leadership group in strengthening our Cans and Bottle recyling program.

2) Establish youth internships for 40 young people in our Garden, Farmer's Market, and CommunityConnect senior citizen service program.

3) Provide basic support needs for our youth who want to work but need clothing, food, or transportation help to do so.

Please support!  Our youth and the Sandy area will benefit from each dollar donated!
