Animal Ark is an animal welfare organization that embraces and follows a no-kill philosophy in our work to rescue, rehabilitate, & rehome 800 of Minnesota’s lost and homeless companion animals every year. Animal Ark's current Live Release Rate is 99.1%. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve these amazing animals, their new adoptive families, and the many communities across Minnesota. We operate a shelter in Hastings, MN  and a Thrift Store in St. Paul. Founded in 1977, Animal Ark is a 501(c) 3 non-profit Minnesota corporation.

We often take in more challenging cases, because we believe those animals also deserve a chance at a normal life. We accept sick and injured strays from our immediate area, in addition to working with many local municipal impounds to transfer animals into our care.  Update on Kathy 08/15/2015:
Kathy recently underwent liver shunt surgery.  She had some complications from the procedure that resulted in seizures, as well as other medical issues.  This required subsequent visits to the U of M for observation and to adjust her medication . She is now back with her foster mom.  We are happy to report Kathy has not had any seizures since Monday morning, her temp is back to normal, and she is eating on her own.  The seizures did cause temporary blindness but the doctors are hopeful that she will regain her vision.  Please continue to keep Kathy in your thoughts as she continues her recovery.
