Hi, my name is Andrew. Now don't get me wrong. I don't usually like to ask others for stuff but I figured it was worth a try. About three years ago my parents got divorced, around that same time we were leaving the Mormon Church which, as some people may know, is not an easy process. Between the emotional wear and tear from that, we picked up and moved to a new state. I had to leave behind many friends and say goodbye to a place I loved. This last year I came out as gay. These last 3 years have been pretty brutal. I'm not going to complain, day by day it was miserable but when I look at the bigger picture it's made me stronger. I had been struggling for quite a while until I was messaged by someone who my father used to teach. She has been so kind and supporting and is such a wonderful friend to me and has shared her passions with me just as I have with her. She is optimistic and kind and one of the nicest and best friends I have. Sadly, she lives hundreds of miles away from me and I don't have the funds to fly out and meet her. I've just turned old enough to get a job however my custody arrangement between my parents makes it difficult to get a job, especially since they live in different states. Hopefully this summer I'll wrangle one up. Now, I'm not asking for a lot. But if everyone reading this donated even $1 then it would mean the world to me if it brings me closer to meeting my friend and travelling. I promise I'm not lazy and I don't expect anything from you. Many others have much sadder stories and deserve more than what I'm begging you all for. So I'll make a deal.
