Andreas Animal Rescue needs HELP

Donation protected
My name is Andrea and I have a great team of volunteers who support Andrea's Animal Rescue and the Henrietta Foundation based in Murcia and WE NEED HELP!
My husband and I founded Andrea's Animal Rescue and the Henrietta Foundation in 2008. The aim of the charity is to rescue and care for mistreated, injured and abandoned animals, and re-home them if possible.
We have already improved the life of over 50 donkeys, mules, ponies and horses and have taken into care and re homed numerous other animals from Guinea Pigs, to Pot Bellied pigs. We provide and pay for veterinary treatment, and give special care, kindness and love, but we are primarily a charity set up for the rescue of donkeys, but there are still so very many suffering, beaten, starving and abandoned donkeys and other equines needing our help. Two distressing examples are a person witnessing the smallest and thinnest donkey we have ever seen, being ridden by 3 drunken youths, whilst being beaten by a fourth until the donkey collapsed.   Another donkey was literally being eaten alive by a pack of dogs and had a 25cm hole in his leg. There are many more out there waiting...
At the moment we are overwhelmed. Apart from the 21 donkeys, mules and ponies at the Rescue Centre we have several in livery, and foster care and at least 8 donkeys and ponies on a waiting list.  We want to help them, but we desperately, desperately need more land, and  are trying to raise €100,000.  PLEASE CAN YOU HELP US.
The Charity also works with Seprona the animal welfare section of the Guardia Civil and is on call for USECO in Cartagena, the animal welfare section of the Police Local. At the moment any abandoned donkeys, mules or ponies reported to them have to be fed and watered, if possible, where they are found, so the purchase of more land is becoming more and more critical. The most recent case being a donkey abandoned in the fields just outside of Cartagena that we have to travel to on a daily basis with feed and water.
Pictured here is Maya when she was rescued, she was in a terrible state but thanks to our wonderful vets and some good food, love and care she recovered.
There are many happy endings, unfortunately some don't make it, but we do our very best to help each and every animal that comes to us. This can cost up to 3,000€ in veterinary fees for a severely injured donkey, and also costs in excess of 9,000€ a year for feed, bedding, farriers fees, and livery, plus the cost of transport and much, much more.  This is paid for by our own funding, and by many generous people who give money and donate items to our two charity shops run by loyal volunteers, but this will not support the purchase of extra land.
With the additional land we will be able to provide permanent sanctuary to donkeys, mules, ponies and animals that have been so mistreated or injured they have to remain with the charity permanently. One donkey totally blind, another with an eye missing. Several with hooves so overgrown for so long that they have deformed legs and have difficulty walking. Re homing is another issue as Spanish legislation is making it more and more difficult for anyone to adopt or foster equines.
The Charity has also helped many dogs suffering in the Murcia area, and since 2008 we have re homed hundreds.  Many in Spain, and the UK and also many in collaboration with other associations throughout Europe.
The picture above is of “Maya” she was found thirsty and hungry with a young foal at foot, who was also in a very poor condition, the foal 'Dinky Doo' is now a cheeky little boy, living with the donkeys.
Andrea's Animal Rescue and Henrietta Foundation's aim is also to educate families and children in the care and treatment of animals, by arranging open days and activities to provide more understanding and to help stop the continuing mistreatment of animals.
