As many of you know I was diagnosed with stage 3C colon cancer last year. During that time testing began and many new issues arised. The initial surgery to remove the mass in the colon was supposed to end the debilitating pain I had been experiencing for the better part of 6 months. After healing from abdominal surgery, which is no easy task, there was still extreme pain not associated with the surgery. Baffled, doctors ordered further testing and eventually a second surgery all of which leaving doctors with no answers and me still in agony. All the while, each of these tests, which were and still are a daily occurrence, turning up new issues. Scans on the abdomen turned up spots on the kidneys. Scans on breasts came back with red flags. It seemed every new test to find the route of one issue only uncovered a new and urgent problem. All the while, I was still undergoing chemo, which has it's own set of side effects, and still experiencing unbelievable pain in the abdomen and new unexplainable concerns with eating and digesting. It wasn't until a perplexed doctor stop prescribing medicine and investigated the root of the stomach pain that they were able to find a separate disease that was causing a wrapping pain in the stomach. Treatment for this disease requires bi weekly MRIs plus spinal injections. To say fighting for my recovery has been a full time job would be an understatement.
Prior to getting te earth shattering news of colon cancer, I was an independent mom with 3 jobs. I was on the road to reclaiming my life after some past misfortunes and was making some serious headway clearing old debts and restoring my credit. Unfortunately, the new year has presented a new set of problems. An adjustment in insurance has caused a substantial increase in medical bills that are just too much for any one family to bear. Even after applying for assistance the bills are already accruing and threatening to wreck what I have worked so hard to rebuild.
With that being said, it is not in my nature to ask for help, as I am accustomed to being the one to always lend a hand, however I ask if anyone is able to donate, even a dollar, I would forever be grateful. Furthermore, it would mean so much if you are in a situation ,like myself, where you are unable to donate monetarily, that you share this page. Most importantly though, above money or sharing pages, I ask everyone to please pray for me. I fully believe in the power of prayer and know that the prayers everyone has been sending are helping me get through this difficult time. I believe that through prayer I will find healing.
