Help Our WWII Ship Sail Again

Tax deductible
Our Patriotic Mission
The SS American Victory, a nonprofit musuem ship in Tampa, Florida, is raising funds to support her drydock maintenance and repairs.

Our goal is to raise $250,000 to ensure that she gets out to sea to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, this December, to salute the brave men and women who have served our country.

About Our Historic Vessel
Launched in 1945, the SS American Victory served as a cargo vessel during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

She has sailed the world and still serves today!

Open every day for tours, the American Victory Ship provides education and training for our school children, U.S. Naval Sea Cadets and Boy Scouts, Merchant Marine sailors, active military (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Marines, Spec Ops) police, firefighters, first responders and working dogs.

We can think of no better way for her to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor this December than out at sea.

Please help us make sure she gets to this momentous occasion by donating to support her dry dock and repairs. All of these funds will go directly to the work she needs, including dry-docking, new paint, engine and boiler repairs, and more.

US Naval Sea Cadets, Tampa Bay Division, calls the American Victory its home port. Part of our fundraising efforts will go towards a sleepover space for Cadets to further their shipboard training, and experience history and life at sea.

Our most experienced volunteer, Aaron Varn is 93 years old! He served aboard a similar ship in WWII and has volunteered at the American Victory Ship since she arrived in Tampa in 1998.

Aaron is one of countless talented, and dedicated volunteers. To date, over one MILLION volunteer hours have poured into this historic vessel.

You can see him above manning a 3-inch gun during WWII, and conducting maintenance on an engine room pump in 2014.
