In Memory of Amanda Koronik

Death is tragic, but a child should never have to grow up without a parent. On the morning of August 27, 2015, Amanda Koronik passed away suddenly. The tragedy is not only difficult, but leaves behind a lot to deal with in its wake. Amanda could not be classified under any one characteristic. Her connection to people was strong and personal. She had a contagious smile, unyielding love, and passion for life in general.

Adding to the tragedy of her death, Amanda left behind two beautiful babies who are forced to miss their mother’s love every day. Her oldest son, who is almost 3, was diagnosed as being blind early on. Through the love of his mother, grandmother, great-grandparents, and family, he has been working toward discovering the world in his own unique way. Her youngest son just turned one and had a strong connection with her.  These two little angels are now faced with the struggle of growing up without her.

Amanda, like countless others, faced a tough battle with addiction. Addiction doesn’t discriminate, nor does it let go without a fight. Amanda fought hard for her release from the struggle. In the most recent years, her strength to find it was rooted in her love of her boys and her partner, Zach. Through tireless setbacks, she continued to try to push through as best as she could in order to seek the life she dreamed of.

With the abruptness of her death, we are raising money to help Amanda’s family in two ways. First, to pay for the funeral expenses that were unexpected, devastating, and causes added burden on the family. In addition, any extra funds will go towards financial assistance for the boys and their journey through a life without their mother, a burden no child should ever have to bear.

Please find it in your heart to help and donate any amount you can to assist Amanda's family in lessening the burden of such a tragic and unexpected loss and to help provide for her boys. Every penny will help and can hopefully help lessen the financial burdens, so the family may grieve and begin to work through the devastation.
