Dreaming Big: College&A Better Future

INTRO: Have you ever been told to follow your dreams? To work hard and they will come true? Well, no one mentioned all the money it would cost now did they? Sadly, to get anywhere you need a lot of degrees, and better yet-- EXPERIENCE!

Now let me ask you, how does one get experience if they're never given a chance? This is where your college degrees come in. My name is Allison, and this is my life story, my problem, my journey. Perhaps you can help me out...

I am twenty two years old, looking to follow my dreams of finishing college. Currently, I only have one semester completed at Bergen Community. I completed this semester in 2010. Why didn't I continue? You guessed it, money issues.

I went to BCC in 2010, with full financial aid. I was so happy, I could finally live my dream and become something GREAT in life!!! I worked VERY HARD, and even earned myself a nice 3.8 GPA. I even have the certificate showing my honor status!

However, this dream was crushed when two weeks before the end of my first semester, all my aid was taken away! I couldn't understand or believe it, but it happened.

Now, it's 2013, and I want to live my dream of finishing BCC. I had to pay that 2010 semester off out of pocket, which caused me to live a life paycheck to paycheck. At twenty-two, this isn't an ideal lifestyle. But nothing I can do. I work a full-time low paying job, not complaining, just saying. (In fact, I AM QUITE GRATEFUL to have a job!!) It's just very hard to live without money in life. It's the sad truth.

DREAMING BIG: My goal in life is to become a pre-school through third grade teacher! I have a loving and caring personality filled with FUN! I absolutely can not see myself in another field of study! I want to teach children, watch them learn and be happy doing so!! I want to make children know the goods of this world, and avoid negativity! Also, I want children back into nature, like in my own childhood. I just want to make the world a peaceful, better place, it's best to start where the new generation begins, right?

Yes, I know BCC is only step one in reaching my goal. I will always be in schools, and that's fine with me! I want to learn all I can to become the BEST I can!! I do not want to waste my life away wishing and saying "What if"!

If you could help with even a dollar, that's fantastic! I would just love some help and a chance to achieve greatness! Every little bit helps, and I would be so grateful to anyone that does help me out!! I am not a waste, and I work HARD.

In closing, I am not someone who is going to college for someone else. I am going for me. I believe when you go for yourself, you will reach greatness. Thank you for taking the time to read my page, or dare I say, donating! =]

GOAL of DREAMING BIG: I'm in need of 8,000 to continue my education at Bergen Community. ALL proceeds will go towards school including books. I already have pens and stuff, so just books are needed... I WILL STOP WHEN I HAVE ENOUGH- IT MAY BE LESS THAN 8,000! If anyone could be so kind to help me live my dream of becoming a college graduate...please! I'm trying anything I can to achieve this dream. I have applied for online scholarships, hoping they're real. I have tried to apply for a loan, sadly I am lacking a co-signer. Now, I have found GoFundMe. I hope to find people who are kind enough to help me. I love to make new friends, and that's just who everyone who helps me are- FRIENDS! (For life! =] )
