UPDATE 8: Great news everyone! If all goes well, I will be video chatting with Uncle Ali tomorrow (Thursday morning for those of you in different time zones) and I got his bank account information today. Now if we can just get GoFundMe to un-freeze the funds. If any of you would like to do your part and write into GoFundMe letting them know that you felt comfortable providing to this campaign and would like the funds to go to Uncle Ali, that would be much appreciated. There is a "Help" button at the top of the page if you're signed in, and a Help Center at the bottom of the page if you're just on the homepage. I am emailing them daily and will send them the video of my conversation with Uncle Ali tomorrow. I will also be posting the video on the campaign page as well as my Instagram account. UPDATE 7: Due to a few people sending me harrassing messaging, I have turned off the comments on this page as well as made my instagram account private. I have also decided that I will be closing donations when we hit $7000. It makes me sad to do this, but unfortunately I can not handle the rude and inconsiderate comments that are being made toward me. Please rest assured that I will still be making progress to give Uncle Ali the money and will still update this page even after donations have closed. Check back for updates frequently! Even though there have been a few "haters", I have recieved a lot of love and support from complete strangers. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness means the world to me!
UPDATE 6: Wow! I am blown away by everyone's support and contributions. Not only have we raised over 10,000 Turkish Lira, but we have also raised over half of our original goal. That is incredible!! I would love to reach the full goal and the biggest help I need right now is promoting on Instagram and Twitter. So if anyone has access to either social media platform and can share this campaign, that would be amazing! Thank you all again. Next week I will have a video call with Uncle Ali and we will be one step closer to giving him his money.

UDATE 4: Unclie Ali and I will be video chatting next week with a translator. He is going to stay the weekend in the hospital. Also, if we can raise $2,625 that will be exactly 10,000 Turkish Lira. Lets have that be our goal!! Share, share, share!!!
UDATE 3: I will be video chatting with Uncle Ali directly as soon as he is out of the hospital and I will be wiring him the money directly. I am not giving this money to the Turkish Red Crescent, but they are the people that are helping me get in contact with Uncle Ali because I don't speak Turkish and do not have contact info for him.
UPDATE 2: Uncle Ali is still in the hospital. The Red Crescent wants him to be in better health before we transfer the funds so that gives us a few more days to share and donate!
UPDATE: I have heard back from the Turkish Red Crescent and they are SO excited we are raising funds. They are going to get me in direct contact with Uncle Ali. One step closer! Keep sharing!
This morning I saw on social media a heart breaking picture of an older gentlemen in Turkey clinging to his kitten among a background of rubble. Upon further investigation, I found out this poor man, Ali, accidentally started a fire in his home. Please read the whole story via the link below. My heart immediately broke. I would like to raise funds for him and his wife send it to them. I have not been able to find any fundraisers or way to donate so I started my own. Please donate what you can but more importantly, please share. I do not know this man but the video I saw of him sobbing nearly broke my heart.
