"Help Me Pursue My Dreams!"

Hi! My name is Alexus and I am currently a junior at Jim Elliot Christian High School. Ever since being diagnosed with multiple heart conditions at the age of nine, I have developed a strong interest in the medical field. I have a 4.0 GPA and take my education very seriously, as I push myself to the limit with a rigorous course load. It doesn’t stop with academics; I am the junior class president, leader of the Interact Club, and member of the California Scholarship Federation/ Family Gap Ministries. Also, I am involved in athletics and several worship bands. Although I maintain a hefty schedule, academics always come first which is why I look forward to furthering my education in the coming years. I have aspirations to be a Physician’s Assistant with a specialty in Cardiology.

            I was privileged enough to be nominated as a delegate representing the state of California at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders by Dr. Connie Mariano. This congress is an academic honors program with strict requirements that will take place this summer in Boston, Massachusetts. During the three-day congress, I will have the opportunity to interact with Nobel Prize winners, prominent medical school deans, inventors, scientists and additional medical leaders.  With your help I hope to raise enough funds to make not only this trip possible but to build a solid foundation to my educational success. Any excess money that has been raised I plan to use toward my college application fees this fall.

        Some colleges I wish to apply are: UC Merced, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Pepperdine University, Point Loma University, Grand Canyon University, Azusa Pacific and University of the Pacific. I hope to major in Human Biology with a minor in Spanish. I am excited for the opportunities yet to come. With any size donation, you are helping me become one step closer to following my dream.
