Our son Alex was born in August 2009 in the hospital Costa del Sol, Marbella - a healthy baby boy full of energy. Towards the end of 2011, just before Christmas and shortly after his second birthday, we noticed a hard lump in Alex's bum. From the first visit to the paediatrician it was clear that this was something bad: Cancer.
Now, in 2014 and after nearly three years of fighting a tough, emotional battle, Alex is receiving paliative care. There are other potential treatments, but due to the lack of funds even just seriously discussing these treatments with private doctors is out of reach. His body is at the limit of what it can take.
Alex, once so full of life, is now so tired and sad most of the time and, as his parents, this is breaking our hearts.
This funding has already paid to once again put a smile on Alex's face by granting him his ultimate wish: to visit Disneyland Paris and see the Eiffel Tower. THANK YOU for all your mega-generous donations. This was not just about some tickets, this has given us the energy to fight on:
Right now, we urgently need to raise the funds to find and pay for additional treatment. We cannot go beyond talking to specialists without the cash to back up any private treatment.
Please help us with our last chance to give our little boy a chance to live or, if nothing else, just a glimpse of hope.
