Help me be a Doctor

Donation protected
I am needing a little help to further my educational dreams in medicine. Below is my "why factor" of wanting to become a doctor. Will you help me reach these goals?

In life there are many trials in which we face, and in those trials we are given two paths- fight or flight. I choose to fight. In medicine we fight for life, healing and the pursuit of the dream to one day have a solution for all infirmity. In this pursuit of the dream, out comes the question everyone likes to ask aspiring pre-med's, "why did you pick medicine" or more specifically "why do you want to be a doctor?" There are a variety of responses to this question. Some say that they would like to help people, while others are looking forward to the reputable income. My journey of medicine was continually developed throughout my life. Medicine has always intrigued me from my early years. Memories go back to picture of me pretending to give my father shots and placing Band-Aid’s on his arms as my first medical procedure. From early on I knew I wanted to find success and make a difference. Fast-forwarding to college, I began as a hopeful pre-med student determined to make the best grades possible, until my father was diagnosed suddenly with stage four-lung cancer. The physician walked in the room, told him he had less than two months to live and walked out without offering any hope or compassion. My father passed less than a month after being diagnosed. That day, it began to burn in me to become a physician that offers strength, and hope in hopeless situations. With the hardships that followed, I never gave up the desire to want to be a physician; in fact, I became more determined to fight for the dreams I have come about since childhood. There have been defining moments in my journey throughout my undergraduate career where I had to make the choice to give up, or continue to strive for my dreams. I know the challenges I've faced have shaped me into the person I am today. I have thrown my creative skills into creating a preventive injury program for cheerleaders that is beginning to be implemented in the Midwest, and through all the struggles, I have never given up and will never give up on becoming a doctor. No matter how long it takes, I will accomplish this goal because after all the dust has settled, I truly know who I am supposed to be- a physician. See, being able understand and study the concept of medicine that is based on the ideas of wellness, the harmony of structure, and the functionality of the body, having the honor of being trusted enough to give serious advice, the gratitude for helping someone through a difficult illness; these things help make the foundation of being a physician and never grow old. I know that the life events, which have led me to this point in my journey, were all relatively small occurrences that became large enough to influence my life-long aspirations. The outcomes of the various chapters of my life all eventually came together and gave me the extra push of determination I needed to commit to volunteering my entire being to reaching a goal that, somewhere along the way, had been gradually laid out in front of me. What is better then becoming an influential doctor in the field of medicine and to revolutionize the way we think about medicine, and the patients, and work together to set them up for the best possible outcome. If you want to become a doctor, you must first have the motivation to push through the most difficult of times. That is one reason why the “why” is so important. The answer to the “why medicine?” serves as motivation, and demonstrates the drive of perseverance. My why factor is answered through motivation that comes from within- the only place that is safe and no one can ever burn out.
