Medical science development in Venezuela
Donation protected
Miguel Altuve Ph.D and I work in the Applied Bioengeneering and Biophysics Group (GBBA) at Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela.
For over 20 years the GBBA has been distinguished for doing high quality research in Biomedical Engineering. This research has lead to numerous publications in many international conferences and journals.
Unfourtunately, our country's economical situation has made imposible for our university to keep funding research and publications.
Recently, two papers product of the GBBA research have been accepted to the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference, to be held in Chicago, 26 - 30 August 2014. The papers are:
1) A New On-Line Electrocardiographic Records Database and Computer Routines for Data Analysis
2) Adaptation of Five Indirect Insulin Sensitivity Evaluation Methods to Three Populations: Metabolic Syndrome, Athletic and Normal Subjects
We are looking for funds to cover our travel expenses:
Plane tickets (CCS - CHI, CHI - CCS) = 1200 USD x 2
Hotel Rooms (per night) = 100 USD x 8
Conference Fees = 625 USD
Travel expenses (food, transportation, etc) = 1200 USD
We are sure the scientific community will profit from these contributions.
